Night out

I wore this out with friends a couple of weeks ago in London.
The only unusual thing about this look for me is that on nights out, I'm usually in skimpier clothing. I've found myself wearing more conservative stuff as of late. Might it have something to do with being 20 soon? Perhaps. You know the saying; A fool at 40 20 is a fool forever.
Saying this, I'll probably be back in my underwear on nights out come summer...

Currently coveting

Logo slithered Tshirts and jumpers with words all over from big fashion houses have never been my thing.
Many could say it's counter culture behaviour or rejection of popular culture. I just call it extremely commercial unoriginality. Plus, my 'style' doesn't quite accomodate them.

Although, when they are deconstructed or played around with, it becomes funny and suddenly interesting.

There is absolutely nothing shocking about this. It's not bright at all. Infact, I think it's a bit too dull

You know my girl Sophie has to make this list. She stays impressing me with all this new stuff!

Aint nobody got time for that.

You wouldn't believe this is the same Virgos Lounge Coco dress I wore here would you?
Actually, I'm sure its not that hard to believe but an element of exaggeration is always necessary in these blog posts you see.

I won't insult anyone by doing a "How to turn your party dress into a day dress." guide but I will tell you why you should do it. (It's really just a matter of layering underneath or over said dress)

Why you should wear a party dress in the daytime
1. It becomes a badge of honour when you can say "Yeah, I totally rocked that ball gown down the high street on some random monday afternoon."
2. People will stare. Now, they might be thinking 'who does this b***h think she is strutting around in her prom dress'. Who cuures what they be thinking gurl, atleast they looking!
3. You will stand out of the crowd.
4. You WILL look fly.
5. Most importantly, you can repeat the dress as many times as you want to and not get called out for it. *Can I hear an Ameeeeen Jesus*

Regalia

When normal people go to masquerade balls, you would expect decorum, class and probably even a bit of snobbishness. Basically, my friends and I were in the middle of the dance floor, downing shots and doing the silliest dance moves you will probably ever see. I'm talking the robot, the duck dance, african cultural dances, moon walks and the whole lot. It's either because we go out way to much and have run out of things to do, or were are just so badass and don't really give a damn who sees us. *Now, imagine me doing the moonwalk in this lovely elegant dress and in my 5000 inch heels*

Equestrian

By the way, this is what douchebag looks like.... I really can't help but laugh when I see this picture over and over again. 1. Why so fricking serious? 2. I'm clearly trying to be cool, unfortunately, I just look cold. I've managed to forgive myself for dressing up like a snob but seeing as I pretty much live in these boots and rollneck sweaters these days I think you should be able to forgive me too. Comfort first peeps.

I know that if I saw someone dressed like this I'll probably ask them if they had lost their horse....

Festive Red

I'm not sure why red is the christmas colour. Some say It has something to do with Italy, some say its the blood of Jesus. Whatever it is, I'm pleased, because it's one hell of a badass colour and looks good on everyone. I know I wear it when I'm trying to give off that "I'm sexy vibe" But we all know that it just never works. However, I'm sure Daisy-Mak readers are all beauts and will do the colour justice. ;)

Black and Leather.....

Black and Leather...... These 2 in any combined state give what I like to call an effortless chic.

I'm sure we all know that black is pretty much the easiest colour to wear. It goes with everything, doesn't get stained easily and conceals parts of the body we don't want to be visible. Ladies ;) Some might consider it a bit of a sneaky cheat but who doesn't like an easy way out? Christmas is near and we all know what that means.....

It's very easy to find yourself having way too many black items in your wardrobe, but if you don't have a black above the knee skirt, then you really need one.

I love this Ann Demeulemeester skirt because It's not too clingy nor loose and also not too short nor long. That Zip detail at the front which actually opens up just gives it an extra edge that makes it even harder to say no. It's perfectly effortless.

This is pretty much the coolest bag I've seen in a while. I've never been one to buy logo infested or overly extravagant bags so you can imagine my excitement when i saw this.  Its not got too much going on it has the softest leather and I can literally shove my whole life in it all at once.

Finding a dress to wear in the winter is probably the hardest thing one anyone's to do list, but with  an extremely cozy and knitted top half and a bottom half made of good old leather, I think its safe to  say that the search can come to an end. Diane Von Furstenberg is a life saver for this one.

Ill be doing more high street based but also cool, black, effortless and chic picks tomorrow so stay tuned.

Sky Blue

Not a lot of colours suit me thanks to my weird and confused skintone; not quite dark or light. So , I'm just going to come out and say it, sky blue happens to make me look bearable and so do a couple of hues and tones of blues and greens.

I seriously hate these pictures where It looks like I'm looking at something genuinely interesting. I was probably looking at a bird taking a dump or something along those lines. To be quite honest, that is quite interesting and might warrant such an intrigued face.

Party Collection

Hey peeps!! Just a warning..... This post is heavily loaded with pictures! The Virgoslounge Party collection is out tomorrow and I'm sure we all can't wait. This is the first and official release of the full collection.

Of course the staple aesthetic of opulence, richness and sick embroidery has been kept, but there is a more adventurous side these pieces in comparison to the others. After all, it is the party season; what better a time than now to be frivolous with our fashion choices? Don't be the party pooper who goes out partying in jeans because you think its cool. A Virgoslounge dress is way cooler.

The peach dress up there is my favourite as the colour is so gentle and sweet but the style and embroidery makes it wayyyyy too hot for any more words. The contrast with the clutch sure doesn't hurt the eyes. It's the perfect outfit!

I wore this jacket a couple of months ago to the first day of fashion week. See here

There are about 30 pieces after the jump so.

Strada Menu launch

Last thursday I had the pleasure of attending the launch of the new and gorgeous Strada menu at their More street branch with the wonderful view of the London Bridge.

With that landmark being my favourite place in the world, and food being the most important thing to me, I had never been happier.

I could tell from the taste that all the dishes I had were made from the finest ingredients. Many of which were transported from the dishes region of origin. The freshest and greenest olives imported freshly from Sicily, breads flavoured cheeses and meats from the depths of Italy . I can't gush enough, but it really takes you through an extraordinary culinary journey through Italy. One thing I love the most about eating out is experiencing other cultures and Strada certainly enables one to enjoy this experience to the maximum.

Dulux Summer 2013 Trend Event launch the Collective Passion trend

Dulux had an event in partnership with the The Apartment launching their Collective passion collection which was filled with vibrant, bright and positively blinding colours. It gets better... There were clothes to pick from, champagne, food, makeup artists, nail technicians and one massive fun photoshoot in one massive chic apartment (only because of dulux products of course)  looking over London.

The first thing that comes to mind when you think about colour trends isn't wall paints and home decor, and the first thing that comes to mind when you think about home decor isn't fashion bloggers having a photo shoot. It's probably because Iv'e been in this little fashion clothing bubble and I sometimes forget that fashion is everything so it all seems to work. “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening”. Coco Chanel

I'm a very visual person and Its all about the colour for me. A bit childish some may say, but thats what truly brings life to everything in this complicated world we live in.

The vibrance of these settings personally made me extremely excited. Imagine how happy we all will be if our living rooms were eclectic yellows or our bedrooms were a nice bright orange.
The world will certainly be a better place

Bora Aksu

Based on my reviews and what I've notcied, it seems like Botanical themes are big on designers this season. I mean, It only makes sense being Spring/Summer and all. The blooming flowers and all  the natural stuff seems like the most natural way to go, (No pun intended) but Aksu seems to have a darker aesthetic which makes such a frequently used theme such as the floral, out of the ordinary.  This collection reminds me of a somewhat dark and mysterious but beautiful fairy. Aksu's collection is based on a British Aristocrat and this time I'm not guessing like I usually do, because he said it himself!

Corrie Nielsen

In my own little dreamy world, I would have loved this show to go on forever with its infusion of nature and Corrie's trademark sculptural pieces. There also seemed to be an essence of the early 1900's. Flowers and corseted dresses with hints of sheer and softly coloured alongside neutral hues. Although most pieces would be classed as unwearable in most peoples books, Nielsen's creations are a form of art which you can't help but notice the character and story line behind the pieces.

LFW Outfit Day 1

I'm always hella late with the Fashion week pictures and I know its a bit annoying, but it takes me aaaaaages to pick out the best ones. I could literally stare at pictures for days before picking out the 'perfect' picture. I guess its something I just have to learn how to get better at, but give me time :)

I didn't want anything uncomfortable, but I'm all about the extravagance so you know I had to wear Virgoslounge. (No one does it better)

I'm loving Olivia from 'Fashion somebody's' intense look behind me. She's such a darling and we hung out a lot that day. Lauren who I've also hung out with this season was standing right behind me. You can probably just about see her legs. I'll be posting pictures of all my Fashion Week Friends soon. They've all bee so lovely.

Outfit-
Zara Slip
VirgosLounge Blazer (Not out till november(Party collection))
YSL bag
Ebay shoes

P.S 1. Look, I dont know what is causing my skin to look all burnt and baked but i'm really nat feeling it. I blame the sun to be honest,  Or the photographers. Yes, all their cameras were bad, its not my face at all. x_x Even my camera is of poor quality.
P.S 2 I know I've worn these shoes at least once for the past 3 season without fail, but they are the most comfortable shoes I have so don't judge. I'll try not to wear them again next time. Hopefully I become rich overnight and get the pair of Givenchy boots I've been talking about. People have given enough designers credit for the shoes (i.e. Balenciaga /Sam Edelman) NO, all credit goes to Ebay. Thanks on their behalf though. I'm sure they'll be flattered. LOL...

Boys Of Fashion Week SS/12 by Justin Wu

Boys of Fashion Week SS/2012 from Justin Wu on Vimeo.

If you follow me on twitter @daisymakblog (new twitter handle) you probably saw my tweet about a treat for you guys. Sorry if you've seen it before BUT
I can't get over the fact that there can be so many beautiful boys in one house. Where was my invite? and where on earth are these kind of people? I mean, I don't go out of my house and just see people like this roaming the streets. Well, fashion week in soon; My search begins! Camping outside somerset house does not sound like desperate measures at all if I get to see thee beautiful faces....... And they look so fun too :( Now for those of you who are going to watch this video until tomorrow morning(I know there will be lots of you) I totally get it, you are not alone! :)

Ozwald yeah

These photos were taken during London Fashion week at an Ozwald Boateng Press day. I had an opportunity to watch the design process of the OB designers which was very different seeing as it's mens wear, and ever so tailored. The inspiration of the collection came from the African Safari hence the hats and choice of colours. Personally, I think the difference between This collection and the past ones is that its more appealling to younger people in the sense that it is more modernised and trends young people will wear now are evident in these designs. Everyone who works at the office were ever so kind, and so were the fit models. The arrangement you will find below of the colour blocked shirts and ties were arranged by yours truly. :)

More photos after the jump.

LFW day 2- Red jersey jumpsuit and Lenon shades.... WHAT?!

London, London. Who would have known that I could be so excited to be  here. well well, Its just this week. I'm sure next week and beyond it'll be back to normal. *sigh*

Lots of bright colours obviously. Ever so vibrant and exciting..... I want the long Red lace dress and the pink or orange ostrich feather Gilet!! I also think they were the most beautiful models I've seen so far. I love the hair colouring.

Belle Sauvage- SICK!!!

I cant even begin to comprehend the sickness of this print..... ACE!!

Total opposite of Bernard Chandran!!Belle Sauvage was very dull coloured. But dull in a fabulous way....  ;) Again, can you spot the celebrity?

My Lenon shades.... Feel free to laugh, but I love them :)
