Night out

I wore this out with friends a couple of weeks ago in London.
The only unusual thing about this look for me is that on nights out, I'm usually in skimpier clothing. I've found myself wearing more conservative stuff as of late. Might it have something to do with being 20 soon? Perhaps. You know the saying; A fool at 40 20 is a fool forever.
Saying this, I'll probably be back in my underwear on nights out come summer...

Aint nobody got time for that.

You wouldn't believe this is the same Virgos Lounge Coco dress I wore here would you?
Actually, I'm sure its not that hard to believe but an element of exaggeration is always necessary in these blog posts you see.

I won't insult anyone by doing a "How to turn your party dress into a day dress." guide but I will tell you why you should do it. (It's really just a matter of layering underneath or over said dress)

Why you should wear a party dress in the daytime
1. It becomes a badge of honour when you can say "Yeah, I totally rocked that ball gown down the high street on some random monday afternoon."
2. People will stare. Now, they might be thinking 'who does this b***h think she is strutting around in her prom dress'. Who cuures what they be thinking gurl, atleast they looking!
3. You will stand out of the crowd.
4. You WILL look fly.
5. Most importantly, you can repeat the dress as many times as you want to and not get called out for it. *Can I hear an Ameeeeen Jesus*

#Nonoise please

Shopping is a bitter sweet experience for its ability to fulfil the desires of our ever hungry human nature EVERYTIME, but with the hustling and bustling, I'm sure some of us think some times it's not worth it. This is probably why seating in bed all day with a tub or 2 of ice cream on Asos.com  has become perfectly normal.
Although it's mostly sweet, I very rarely enjoy shopping because of the stress. I prefer to pass by the odd shop on my way to get something important; say some McDonalds fries or a Starbucks. The brilliant #NoNoise concept being launched at Selfridges tomorrow embodies everything perfect shopping could ever hope to be; No Noise, No mind messing, No rowdiness, No confusion. Everything is bare, simple and creates this almost nostalgic atmosphere that allows some peace and tranquility.

I promise I'm not over exaggerating with these overly descriptive words. This morning at the press launch, we had a meditating  room.

Much more after the jump.....

Lets talk mens wear

As the London Mens Collections grace themselves upon us I can't help but share what my 3 favourite trends are as the new season has officially started. As underrated as it is, there is something about men's fashion that intrigues me. I'm sure you've all noticed that a lot of trends we girls wear are inspired by males with the whole androgyny thing we've got going on, but what a lot of us fail to notice is that this works both ways.

Take coloured suits for example.
One of the strongest trends to come off both the menswear and womenswear catwalks, the coloured suit is a wardrobe must for spring. Reds and rusts like those seen at Paul Smith will make sure you stand out from the sartorial crowd or go for softer pastel shades for the perfect summer look. We all love a man in soft colours.

The honest truth is that I would wear these outfits above if I could have them tailored to by body shape and size. Rihanna did just that in this Acne ensemble as you can see below. Prints, androgyny, effortless cool, she's got it all sorted with this look.

Talking about stripes, let's discuss.....
Forget about the nautical kind, stripes take on a whole new, modern feel for spring summer 2013. Working or weekend chilling, go bold and clashing as at Marc by Marc Jacobs or subtle and smart as inspired by Ralph Lauren.

Print attack
From graphic to digital to optical, you can’t get away from prints this spring. An easy segue into new season style, make like
Vivienne Westwood and wear it head to toe or follow Alexander McQueen’s lead and go for a printed bomber – simultaneously nailing two trends in one. We should learn to kill 2 or 3 birds with one stone when the opportunity presents itself and the print attack allows us to do just that.

From full-on prints to a fresh take on stripes, fashion this season leaves no room for the timid. Prepare to be brave with my pick of three key trends for spring summer 2013.

Don't we all love a little bit of manspiration.

Love,
Me

Night out with VL ladies

A few weeks ago, we the VL girls all went out for a nice dinner and a wild night out to celebrate what has been an incredibly successful year for the brand.  As you can see EVERYONE including our friends were wearing VL.
Of course we ALL ended up not remembering much the next day. All work and no play makes jack extremely dull.

Merry Crimbo

Regalia

When normal people go to masquerade balls, you would expect decorum, class and probably even a bit of snobbishness. Basically, my friends and I were in the middle of the dance floor, downing shots and doing the silliest dance moves you will probably ever see. I'm talking the robot, the duck dance, african cultural dances, moon walks and the whole lot. It's either because we go out way to much and have run out of things to do, or were are just so badass and don't really give a damn who sees us. *Now, imagine me doing the moonwalk in this lovely elegant dress and in my 5000 inch heels*

Equestrian

By the way, this is what douchebag looks like.... I really can't help but laugh when I see this picture over and over again. 1. Why so fricking serious? 2. I'm clearly trying to be cool, unfortunately, I just look cold. I've managed to forgive myself for dressing up like a snob but seeing as I pretty much live in these boots and rollneck sweaters these days I think you should be able to forgive me too. Comfort first peeps.

I know that if I saw someone dressed like this I'll probably ask them if they had lost their horse....

More Street style

Don't worry, I'm not going to give another speech about the style choices of my generation this time. More great and genuine street style, Enjoy!

Bora Aksu

Based on my reviews and what I've notcied, it seems like Botanical themes are big on designers this season. I mean, It only makes sense being Spring/Summer and all. The blooming flowers and all  the natural stuff seems like the most natural way to go, (No pun intended) but Aksu seems to have a darker aesthetic which makes such a frequently used theme such as the floral, out of the ordinary.  This collection reminds me of a somewhat dark and mysterious but beautiful fairy. Aksu's collection is based on a British Aristocrat and this time I'm not guessing like I usually do, because he said it himself!

Corrie Nielsen

In my own little dreamy world, I would have loved this show to go on forever with its infusion of nature and Corrie's trademark sculptural pieces. There also seemed to be an essence of the early 1900's. Flowers and corseted dresses with hints of sheer and softly coloured alongside neutral hues. Although most pieces would be classed as unwearable in most peoples books, Nielsen's creations are a form of art which you can't help but notice the character and story line behind the pieces.

LFW Outfit Day 1

I'm always hella late with the Fashion week pictures and I know its a bit annoying, but it takes me aaaaaages to pick out the best ones. I could literally stare at pictures for days before picking out the 'perfect' picture. I guess its something I just have to learn how to get better at, but give me time :)

I didn't want anything uncomfortable, but I'm all about the extravagance so you know I had to wear Virgoslounge. (No one does it better)

I'm loving Olivia from 'Fashion somebody's' intense look behind me. She's such a darling and we hung out a lot that day. Lauren who I've also hung out with this season was standing right behind me. You can probably just about see her legs. I'll be posting pictures of all my Fashion Week Friends soon. They've all bee so lovely.

Outfit-
Zara Slip
VirgosLounge Blazer (Not out till november(Party collection))
YSL bag
Ebay shoes

P.S 1. Look, I dont know what is causing my skin to look all burnt and baked but i'm really nat feeling it. I blame the sun to be honest,  Or the photographers. Yes, all their cameras were bad, its not my face at all. x_x Even my camera is of poor quality.
P.S 2 I know I've worn these shoes at least once for the past 3 season without fail, but they are the most comfortable shoes I have so don't judge. I'll try not to wear them again next time. Hopefully I become rich overnight and get the pair of Givenchy boots I've been talking about. People have given enough designers credit for the shoes (i.e. Balenciaga /Sam Edelman) NO, all credit goes to Ebay. Thanks on their behalf though. I'm sure they'll be flattered. LOL...

Lots of Love,
Me

Dans La Vie (Full A/W 12 collection)

I've not got a lot of collections left to post on shows so, they'll be gone soon and it'll back to normal stuff. Apologies to those of you who don't appreciate my slowness.

Check out this cool video i spotted myself in. I'm the one in the bright red jumper, beanie and I'm acting like I've never seen shoes before. WATCH FROM 2:16

PAM HOGG

How many ways can one designer reinvent the jumpsuit?
I've seen pictures and videos of Pam Hoggs past collections and I thought to my self "What a cray lady" and I mean that in a good way of course. She doesn't seem to care about what anyone thinks and her main focus obviously isnt about her collection being wearable. Infact, it might be the exact opposite; more artsy fartsy than anything else.

With me being a bit of a forward person, I figured I might as well make the clothes look crazier by editing them so it's interpreted to you guys the way I see them in my head.

Enjoy...

Dans La Vie A/W 2012

One of my favourite looks from the season......
More pictures coming soon + my review on Culthub Mag
The mix of Leopard print and whatever else that is has an unusual but intriguing mix.
The Dans La Vie brand has a bright future, just like this coat!!

Street Style from NYFW

While I recognised some regular FW faces like Caroline Issa, Anna Dello Russo, Chiara, Shiona Turini and Peony Lim, I also noticed that there are a few new street style darlings added to the radar. It's nice to see the creative combination of patterns and colours considering the freezing weather, but as you can see from the bottom row of the first collage, some just had to stick to gloomy glamour and I don't blame them; have you been outside lately??!

This little gem just deserved her own personal space. Look at her looking all fly with her wang bag, booties and slouchy hat. I want her!

Collages edited by me.

Ozwald yeah

These photos were taken during London Fashion week at an Ozwald Boateng Press day. I had an opportunity to watch the design process of the OB designers which was very different seeing as it's mens wear, and ever so tailored. The inspiration of the collection came from the African Safari hence the hats and choice of colours. Personally, I think the difference between This collection and the past ones is that its more appealling to younger people in the sense that it is more modernised and trends young people will wear now are evident in these designs. Everyone who works at the office were ever so kind, and so were the fit models. The arrangement you will find below of the colour blocked shirts and ties were arranged by yours truly. :)
